Big Bad Wolf.
So I'm currently sitting for my finals. ( Its currently hell week but its all ending tomorrow! Thankgod. ) So far so good/bad. I've had my ups and downs but Im not going to say I'm going to do well (though I hope I do) cause everytime I find a paper easy, I often jinx myself with a whole page of careless mistakes.
But on Sunday, I went for the 'Biggest books sale of the year'! at MAEPS, Serdang. And it really was what it said, it was BIG. Unfortunately, I went on the last day so the crowd was as huge as the sale. Literally. They had cars lined up all the way from the carpark to the carpark entrance! Not only that, there were long long ques to actually get INSIDE the hall. Crazy, no? Funny thing is, my dad hates crowded places, dislikes reading and books and hates walking around carrying heavy stuff. He did that all in one day! So, just incase you're someone like my dad, here are a couple of tips I kinda randomly thought of to survive another book sale. Just cause I can look back and remember what the heck to do next year. And maybe for you if you're going too!
#1 MAKE A LIST.
The amount of books in the sale is so overwhelming. It was 90,000 square ft. hall plus you're surrounded by 75-95% off discounts on books! And if you really have a good eye and luck on your side, you'd probably find amazing books that look absolutely brand new! So make a list, keep track and don't lose yourself in there. But then again, how are you not going to lose yourself in an all RM8 stack?
#2 BRING YOUR OWN BAG/TROLLEY.
No doubt like any other book sale, they will always provide you with boxes to store your lot til you reach the cashier to pay for your loot. But if you're going to a big booksale (especially on your past day) bring your own bag. Or better yet a trolley.
It was so squashed up in there, I think I hit every person I passed on the back with my box. Not only that, I actually lost my sister in the crowd because of the box! (See what a box can do to you in a booksale? They break apart families. D: ) And as your loot gets bigger and you get weaker, your box gets heavier. All I wanted to do was be like,
'GET OUTTA MY WAY!' *runs along with trolley full of books*
Bring a big big IKEA bag the next time, seriously.
#3 BRING WATER.
Okay, I kinda find this a waste of energy carrying extra weight around, but its so heated up and so tiring trying to scan for books in the whole lot, the only thing I wanted to do while waiting for my mum to finish, was drink water. (But not too much, or you might end up going to the loo!) Staying hydrated is a good thing though, think about how much more energy you'll get after having a sip!
#4 DRESS COMFORTABLY.
You're not going to a mall nor are you walking down the runway of a chanel fashion show like Karl Lagerfeld. Wear something really comfortable. I would suggest you wear a simple T-shirt or a tank with a simple pair of 3/4's or shorts. Wear sneakers too! (I avoided many feet that day and trampled on many too.) And if you've got really long hair like me, bring a hairtie cause god knows how much you'd sweat or get irritated by your hair in there.
#5 KNOW YOUR GENRE.
#5 KNOW YOUR GENRE.
You're not going to be scanning the whole entire hall for books right? Know the books that you read. What you like, what you don't so you dont have to bother covering (in this case) 90,000 square ft. of land to hunt down the books you want. They would be neatly placed and labelled in their very own specific corner. Then, you may raid the whole lot of tables.
#6 BE PREPARED FOR THE UNEXPECTED.
Okay, so I don't normally do it at sales, but I was so upset I couldn't find enough chicklit books that I did it. Keep your eyes peeled for boxes under tables. At sales like these, the workers and customers who let go of their buys often hide certain books or stashes in boxes under tables. And let me tell you, they will be in perfect condition, the perfect price and the perfect book you can find! (I found 2 of my books from boxes under the tables!) Sorry if someone out there is reading it and I took your stash. My bad.
#7 DON'T GET CARRIED AWAY.
Picture says it all. The word sales it self tempts a person to this degree where you just go out of control, lose your mind and not think straight. Plus with the uber cut-downs, who can resist? In my case, bring someone like my dad! Someone who dislikes being in crowded places, books, lines, carrying heavy loads around, etc. This person will bring you back to reality and would probably say things like, ' What are you nuts? Take so many books for what?' ' You got money for that many books?' ' Hurry up la, lets go'. Yes, snap you out of the 'sales trance' right back down to reality.
This time, I was pretty satisfied with the amount of counters they had. But sometimes during peak hours, the ques at the cashiers can be looooooong. And I mean long. So be patient to pay for you loot! Your time will come cause after all, the cashier has probably been waiting to go home way longer than you have!
#9 BRING YOUR MOMMA.
You think your mum is going to sit at home, wait for you on the sofa with a stack of cash for you liddis? Sorry la, but as a teenager, I shall drag along my mum. Why? Because 1. She LOVES books, and she'd probably spend more than me. 2. She understands the need to search and how valuable sales are now adays. (I feel so kiasu now) So you could probably convince your mum to come along like how my sister and I did, tell her about the book sale a week in advance and bug her til she says ' Lets go!'.
#10 WALK RIGHT OUT, NO DISTRACTIONS AND GO HOME.
Major sales would have--Major Sponsors. These sponsors would set up stalls and what nots after the cashier and lurk you into buying their merchandise, stocks, etc. But after a long hardcore search, all you gotta do is get out of there! Don't go berserk over the small things around you, remember, BOOK SALE.
I think thats it, the top 10 to make sure you have a good time at a booksale! So who's going next year now, ey? (;

Welcome to the pad.
I'm waiting for me to study, but unfortunately, I doubt that would be happening anytime soon today. My studying Mojo is gone and I no longer wish to grace the pages of my reference books as looking at them just makes me yearn for freedom and the after exams feeling. Lucky form3s, better appreciate it well!
Its such a shame since I have BM tomorrow and English the day after and novels have not been touched. I'll study later. For now,
BACHELOR PAD SEASON 2 FINALE!
Malevolant desires.
I realized I don't camwhore as much as I did way back when. Come to think of it, I rarely even take pictures of myself anymore! This picture was actually taken around cheer season when I was way too bored and I couldn't help but take pictures with the new sunnies I bought from school!
Anyway, I was struggling to sleep and I came online to talk to Marie and it was like I had an epiphany to blog. SO YAY! Shall torture myself with the materialistic things that has been flooding my mind this past week. *malevolent laugh*
First thing's first, Vans.
Aren't they just gorgeous? I may be a girly-girl for ballet flats and pretty hairbands, but I actually love laying around the house in big baggy shirts and shorts. Trust me, almost every girl does. And honestly, I'm living off my croc ballet flats, adidas sneakers and 2 pairs of cotton on slippers. So a pair of grey Vans are looking pretty good to me now. *smug smile*
BOWS.
Huge fan of bows. Cheer bows or hairbows, it doesn't matter. Just as long as it's wearable, looks pretty, or just plain wearable! Everytime I look at cheer pictures, the first thing I do is say 'WOAAAAAAAH, HER BOW SO NICE. ' D: And ordinary bows just look adorable for normal shopping trips or just a little spice for your trip to the supermart. I don't know about you, but I still say every girl needs a bow to spice up her life, unless its waaaaaaaaaay extreme like some Minnie Mouse bow that looks like its about to swallow her head.
Cath Kidston.
AMAZING, I swear. If you're into the whole hipster, floral, cutsie wear or someone who adore's cute a** patterns, this is the way to go. She has a complete line of bags with a wide range of patterns and designs from carrier bags, to luggage! Though she's a little pricey, her stuff are in top notch quality and they're AMAZING. Go check her out!
Feather extensions.
Okay, so I don't exactly have much to say about this one, but having a feather attached into your hair seems pretty sweet. *swag*
Marks and Spencer Mini Bites.
GODLY. If you're a sweet tooth I suggest you go to the UK, Buy as many tubs as you can back home and gobble them like kids on easter morning. If you're easily hooked to food like me, DON'T TAKE IT cause you'll NEVER put the tub down. There's a couple of flavours actually, sadly, Hongz, told me the chocolate brownie one is the best outta the lot but he gobbled all of them before I got a shot at trying a piece but he was nice enough to share his caramel crisp ones with me. So mum bought 3 flavours back for me on her recent trip to UK. Caramel crisp, Rocky Road and Honeycomb. Caramel crisp just does it for me. Its sweet, crunchy yet chewy at the same time and you can taste the chocolate and caramel come in sync. Its like a piece of heaven in your mouth. Seriously worth the buy and wait. 4 Pounds for 2 tubs!

Reviving?
WOO. HELLO TO MY SUPER DEAD BLOG.
I guess the holiday mode is getting to me, you know, the whole ' I'm so bored, I could die' scenario.
Guess that kinda explains the randomness in the post. Maybe its also the fact that reading others blogs just makes you feel nostalgic and the itch in your fingers wanting to desperately type something on your mind starts to take over your mind. Amazing what blogs and can do.
Been pretty busy lately with the all the activities even though its the holidays. Its nice to know that I'm occupied and I won't be easily bored yet it tires the heck outta me. Morning practices, the articles, the planning. ICC Carnival meetings are coming up soon too! Plus I've got lisan and moral tugasans to actually plan out and do. Mum told me she's surprised I'm not burying myself yet cause she expected me to hang myself by now. No worries, I'm pretty surprised in myself too. (Y)
OH OH! And Supercamp2011 was a couple of days ago. Sooooo worth my time. (: T'was fun abseiling down the man-made wall and watching people shake in fear at the edge of the 40 feet high wall. No seriously, the fact that you're just sitting at the top of that tower amongst the trees can make you pee in your pants. River rafting was not really what I expected it to be, but it was nice to just sit there and follow the water current of the river. Well, if you minus the fact that your raft goes over these huge rocks and branches that stick out from the water. &! Dance floor. ♥ Best damn feeling of performing and dancing again. Kinda made me miss WildChild practices THAT much more.
Spent the day at practice. (Yes, the stunts sequence is finally complete) Adrian picked Eva, Ginny, Crystal and I and headed for the tailors. Dropped MeiKuan on the way. For once, Im happy/satisfied/proud/feeling accomplished about a uniform. ♥ Went to IOI after for lunch and material hunting. Ended up eating and PapaJohn's. Shared a pizza since everyone was broke and then he bought me TuttiFruitti! But he kinda killed it by literally spamming the whole lot of frozen yogurt with Hershey's chocolate sauce. Hit Daiso and left empty handed failing to find anything we needed. Eva and Ginny left after and we went to this shop to get cloth for our props. Progressive max. (': Sent Crystal home then went back after.
Camwhoring while I was changing. Nice. (Y)
